I was in Busan last weekend to take in a show. I went to a symphony that was originally described to me as a philharmonic, but turned out to be an academic symphony. It really is just a switch of an adjecttive in name, but the manifestation is much different. It may have been the best symphony show that I have gone to. Encore meant less "more" and more "do the same songs again". It was one of the few times that the conductor will turn around and encourage the audience to clap along. And at the end of songs it seemed to be the norm to stand up and shout "Yeah!! Give 'er!!!"
